CREATING and REGISTERING A TEAM!
While anyone can register a team it is most often done by someone willing to be one of the coaches, usually the Head Coach.
You do not need to have a full roster to create your own team.
Anytime there are a group friends with at least 5 players or more, it is easier for us to have you register as a team, especially if you are willing to coach. Almost half of all players that register sign up as individuals to be placed on a team that we create or find a spot on.
So if you create a team and only have a few players, rest assured we can almost always fill it with individual players from your area.
REGISTERING THE TEAM
When you register a team it also registers you as a coach. You do not need to have the names of your players when registering. Just select the appropriate age group and tier and enter the team name you would like to use. This can be changed at any time up until the schedule is created.
After you provide some information about yourself and finish the registration, you will receive an email confirming that the team has been registered. If you do not see the email please check your Junk or Spam folder. If that’s where you found it, be sure to add to your “safe senders” list or mark is as “not junk”.
TEAM JOIN CODE
In that email there is a REGISTRATION JOIN CODE provided which you need to share with all players you want to register on your team. They will enter that code on their registration and will be placed on the roster automatically.
TEAMLINKT MOBILE APP
Everyone registered as part of your team, including parents noted on their child’s registration, will connect to the team in the mobile app automatically.
By default, the team will appear as PENDING and prompt people to enter a Join Code. The code that may appear in the mobile app when you log in IS NOT NEEDED, and will not change anything in the app. The app Join Code is for sending to grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. to be able to follow the team and see when the games are. They do not have the ability to communicate with the team.
Once we review and approve a team we will activate it which automatically enables everyone connected to the team to see it in the mobile app. Your team can then chat, email everyone or individuals, coaches can create and share practices, events etc. When the league creates the schedule your team’s games will appear there automatically with all details, time, opponent, locations etc.
NEW – AGE ADVANCING OR AGING DOWN
Starting this year, players wishing to age advance must register as an individual player in the correct age division based on the date of birth as the Team Code will not allow them to join a team outside of their correct age group. Once registered they must email technical@footballmanitoba.com to be assigned to the team in the older age group.
All-Girls teams
These teams must now register the team in the age division matching their DOB. With the introduction of a true Coed& Girls division girls teams are no longer aging down as we anticipate this division will encourage more girls to play and be a better match regarding competition within the Division.
